Description

This internship is a great way to gain experience in customer service, problem solving and sales -- all at the same time. Thrift store interns assist a wide variety of customers, from complete computer novices to experts, with all kinds of computer-related needs. Interns work alongside staff members helping customers, answering the phone, preparing and displaying items for sale, ringing up purchases and keeping things tidy. Interns have the opportunity to gain a wide knowledge base about electronics and the Ubuntu operating system.

Job Title: Thrift Store Intern

Hours Weekly: At least 7 hours/week

Days Per Week: At least 1 day/week

Length of Internship: 100 hours over a 2 – 5 month period

Training: Orientation and Training Provided

Free Geek Supervisor: Sales Coordinator

Responsibilities

Money handling, including cashiering, as well as opening and closing out a till

Customer service

Stocking merchandise and keeping the floor clean and organized

Answering phones

Optional - Completion of a special project tailored to your interests, such as customer surveys, handouts, sign creation, online sales etc. We will work with you to find a project that meets your professional goals.
