Project initiated by Vancouver Renewable Energy

This projects looks at getting local, democratic organizations to team-up in order to build a solar powered projector that can be lent out or rented out to community groups and organizations to show movies in parks and other public spaces. The projector would not only allow us to build capacity for community events, but would also allow us to promote the idea of a democratic economy in a creative way.

Here are a list of materials needed for the SPP:

FREE GEEK [1]
-Speakers
-Projector

BIKE KITCHEN [2]
-Bike trailer

VANCOUVER RENEWABLE ENERGY [3]
-Solar Panels
-Batteries
-Wiring
-Surge Protector

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTION:
Don't you need the sun to power your projector?/Doesn't it need to be dark to show movies?
-The solar powered projector would have a battery bank that would charge on solar power during the day and would provide enough power in the evenings for the projector and speakers

Future potential projects with the SPP:
-Moving Film Festival (playing every weekend in a different park)
-Short film to promote democratic economies
