Free Geek Vancouver's primary goal is to reduce the environmental impact of computer products through re-use and ethical recycling. We are a member of the Basel Action Network's E-Stewards Pledge Program, which holds us to the highest international standards in handling electronic waste.

Upholding these standards also requires that we perform due diligence on all parties that may potentially receive electronic waste from our facility. This agreement is designed to give us confidence that you, the "purchaser," will help us uphold these standards in your operation.

Terms of Agreement

1.1 - Non-functional hardware is sold for the sole purpose of repair and re-use.

1.2 - Non-functional hardware may not be further sold, traded, or given away unless it is tested and shown to be in working order.

1.3 - Any item which cannot be shown to be in working order must be returned to Free Geek for recycling.

2.1 - The purchaser must keep a record of each item sold to them from Free Geek and must proof of repair and or sale. If an item is to be parted out, all parted out items must be recorded by the purchaser separate from the original item sold to the purchaser.

2.2 - The purchaser must provide such records upon request by a Free Geek director or staff member.

3 - Free Geek may cease sales, temporarily or permanently, at any time and for any reason.

The following is for businesses only

4.1 - The purchaser must have trained and qualified staff on site during business hours

4.2 - The purchaser may only purchase hardware that they have sufficient equipment to repair

4.3 - The purchaser must allow a Free Geek director or staff member to scheduled and unscheduled auditing of their repair operations and record-keeping methods.

4.4 – Audits will not take longer than 15 minutes and will not be performed more than once every 6 months.
