Work Steps
- Place a monitor on the test platform and connect both a power plug and a monitor connection, usually VGA (the blue one).
- Turn on the monitor, if it doesn't turn on or turns off again → FAIL
- Change the settings on the monitor:
- Contrast: 85%
- Brightness: 85%
- Colour Temperature: 9300K
- If the monitor is not a Flat Screen LED, select Degauss from the monitor's menu
- From a distance 60cm away (3 regular-sized rulers), compare the monitor with the reference monitor
- Does it flicker? → FAIL
- Is it blurry? → FAIL
- Are the colours not clear? Is there colour on the white line? → FAIL
- Is it too dim? → FAIL
- Put a sticker with the current hour and minute on the plastic edge of the screen
- After an hour from the sticker time, recheck the monitor
- If the monitor has passed then put on a green sticker, bundle an appropriate power supply and store it with other passed monitors for later use
FAIL
- Disconnect all cables attached to the monitor
- Put an "X" on the plastic edge of the screen and put it in the failed monitor section for it to be packaged for recycling
- If there is a special cord for it then put that cord in the cord box of receiving
