Introduction

The purpose of EVAL-2 is to make sure the computer will boot-up and the CPU speed is fast enough to be reused.

Turn on the above spot light and clear debris off EVAL-2 counter top. ( screws and anything that may scratch or damage a case, etc. )

Look in the boxes on the left and find VIDEO CARDS ( AGP and PCI cards ) , and the RAM CARDS ( DDR, SDRAM, and RAMBUS cards ). Look on the shelf under the EVAL-2 counter and find an extra POWER SUPPLY . These items are used to evaluate the computers so if you use them ALWAYS REMEMBER TO RETRIEVE THEM FROM THE COMPUTER AND PUT THEM BACK INTO THE BOXES so they can be used to evaluate other computers.

Select the computer that you are going to evaluate and carefully place it on top of the EVAL-2 counter top.

clear debris off EVAL-2 counter top Remove the computer case cover or side and expose the motherboard. Check for blown CAPS (capasiters).

If you find any blown CAPS then replace the lid on the computer case and secure it with screws, then place the computer in the SCRAP pile for dismantling.

Look at the RAM slots on the mother board if its empty then place one of the EVAL-2 tester RAM in the RAM slot

next, look for a built-in VIDEO or VGA port ( video graphics adapter ) a blue or black 15 pin port then connect the monitor/VGA cable to the VGA port . If none then, look for a brown AGP slot or a white PCI slot on the motherboard and

On the counter you will find three cables. The first one is a purple plug and is connected to the keyboard. plug it into the PS/2 keyboard port
