Further Features

Direct Transfer

To transfer a call to another extension, without talking to the person receiving the call:

  1. Hit "##"
  2. Wait for the robot voiceprompt
  3. Dial the appropriate extension,
  4. You will hear a fast busy tone,
  5. You can now hang up.

You needn't wait for the "transfer" prompt. Eg. "##101" in quick succession works.

If you dial an invalid extension, or wait too long, you will hear "I am sorry that is not a valid extension, please try again," and will be reconnected with the caller. You can check the local extension number and try again.

Accepting Call Waiting

Hit the "flash" button or press the switch-hook briefly to put a call on hold and take a "Calling Waiting" call.

Checking Voicemail

General mailbox

  • Enter 6500
  • You will hear "Password?" Enter the general password.

Individual Voicemail

  • Enter '6' and then your voicemailbox number.
  • You will hear "Password?" Enter your password.

As of Mar 19th the default VoiceMail menu structure can be found at: http://www.voip-info.org/wiki/index.php?page=Asterisk+cmd+VoiceMailMain [[1]]

To transfer a call directly into a location's mailbox or a person's mailbox, dial "#" then when you hear the prompt "transfer", hit "5", followed by the location's extension or person's extension/mailbox. You will then hear a fast-busy beep in your receiver. Hang up. (I'm not sure this works, need to test this (rcy)).

Phone IVR

IVR[[2]] = Interactive Voice Response, basically a phone menu system.
